AB Molte sono le caratteristiche della Villa imperiale tiburtina che, nel tempo sono state trascurate o discusse esclusivamente con riferimento a casi puntuali. Eppure, alcune di queste sono tanto ricorrenti da ingenerare dubbi in merito a scelte compiute secondo uno specifico programma. Tra queste, alcune sembrerebbe che siano state adottate per fornire soluzioni, al contempo, funzionali e strutturali. Si tratta di quanto, già da qualche anno, nel gruppo interdisciplinare di studio della Villa, è noto quale adozione di “pilastri cavi”. Nel lavoro che si presenta, frutto di studi ancora in corso, vengono poste in luce e discusse alcune delle strutture che presentano tali soluzioni.
AB There are many characteristics of the imperial Tiburtine Villa that have been, over time, disregarded or only discussed in relation to particular occurrences. Nevertheless, some of these features are so recurrent to engender the doubt that a specific programme existed, according to which choices were taken. Among them, some seem to be adopted to provide solutions concurrently functional and structural. Within the interdisciplinary study group of the Villa, the matter is known as the adoption of “hollow pillars”. In the paper, first result of ongoing studies, some of the structures that present this kind of solution will be highlighted and examined.
