AB En el presente trabajo abordamos el estudio delos escultores de la escuela sevillana del sigloXVII que trabajaron para o en Lima. De los autores que no viajaron a la capital del Virreinato del Perú, se analizan piezas adscritas a Juan Martínez Montañés, Francisco de Ocampo, Juan de Mesa o Alonso Cano. En el caso de los que sí acudieron a la antigua Ciudad de los Reyes, se examinan obras de Martín Alonso de Mesa, Pedro de Noguera, Luis Ortiz de Vargas, etc. Su estilo, técnica, composiciones y modelos iconográficos se difundieron no sólo por Lima, sino por todos los territorios de Ultramar. De ese modo se pueden establecer las conexiones existentes entre la escuela hispalense del Seiscientos y los escultores nacidos ya enHispanoamérica.
AB In this paper, we study the sculptors of the Sevillian School of the seventeenth century who worked in or for Lima. Among the artists who did not travel to the capital of viceregal Peru, we analyze pieces attributed to Juan Martínez Montañés, Francisco de Ocampo, Juan de Mesa or Alonso Cano. In the case of those who did travel to the ancient City of Kings, we examineworks of art attributed to Martín Alonso de Mesa, Pedro de Noguera, Luis Ortiz de Vargas, etc. Their style, technique, composition, and iconographic models were disseminated not only in Lima but also throughout all of the overseas territories. In this way, we can establishconnections between the Sevillian School of the seventeenth century and sculptors born in Latin America.
