AB La recuperación de la Antigüedad clásica en el contexto europeo del siglo XV, participó de la nueva estructura profesional de arquitectos e ingenieros implicados en la interpretación y transformación del territorio. Las dos disciplinas en los albores de la Edad Moderna y hasta bien entrado el siglo XVIII van a compartir campos de trabajos si bien las tipologías edificatorias y las actuaciones territoriales van a marcar diferencia entre ellas. Serán los trabajos desarrollados en relación a los ríos y vías fluviales los que bajo el epíteto de hidráulicos las reúnan en un mismo fin: facilitar la relación del hombre con los ríos. Con herramientas específicas -informes, proyectos, direcciones de obras- los ingenieros y arquitectos del agua van a sentar en la Edad Moderna las grandes transformaciones del siglo XX.
AB The recovery of classical antiquity in the European context of the fifteenth century, participated in the new professional structure of architects and engineers involved in the interpretation and transformation of the territory. The two disciplines at the dawn of the Modern Age and well into the eighteenth century will share fields of work although building typologies and territorial actions will make a difference between them. It will be the works developed in relation to rivers and waterways that under the name of hydraulics will bring them together in the same purpose: to facilitate the relationship of man with rivers. With specific tools -information, projects, works management- the engineers and architects of water are going to establish in the Modern Age the great transformations of the 20th century.
