AB El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar la vida y la obra de Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, situando su figura en la Alemania de finales del siglo ilustrado y principios del XIX, y valorando sus aportaciones al Olimpismo moderno. Su trabajo se desarrolló en toda Alemania a través de un inmenso movimiento asociado a la práctica física y a la afirmación de la identidad nacional, constituyéndose en una importante referencia para todos los movimientos físico-deportivos posteriores, como es el caso del Movimiento Olímpico Moderno.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------The objective of the study is to analyze the live and work of Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, placing his figure in Germany in late illustrated and early nineteenth century, and valuing their contributions to modern Olympism. His work was developed in Germany through an immense movement associated with physical practice and affirmation of national identity, becoming an important reference for all subsequent physical-sports movements, such as the Modern Olympic Movement.
