%X Se plantea como hipótesis inicial en el presente trabajo de investigación que laconcepción social hacia las personas con diversidad funcional influye en suautonomía y toma de decisiones. Tras analizar la concepción social a lo largo dela historia, los términos utilizados, además de los términos autonomía, toma dedecisiones y empoderamiento y su relación con trabajo social, se realizan dostipos de entrevistas en profundidad dado que se aplica una metodologíacualitativa. La muestra poblacional del primer tipo de entrevista representa eldiscurso de personas con diversidad funcional con el fin de conocer suautonomía y toma de decisiones. El segundo tipo se realiza a personas con y sinconocimientos o relación cercana a la discapacidad para adquirir el discursosocial hacia el colectivo. Tras el análisis de los resultados la hipótesis se confirmadado que aún existe una mirada social paternalista y de cuidado y la potenciaciónde la toma de decisiones y autonomía de las personas con diversidad funcionalsigue siendo una tarea pendiente.
%X The initial hypothesis of this research work is that the social conception of peoplewith functional diversity influences their autonomy and decision-making. Afteranalysing the social conception throughout history, the terms used, as well as theterms autonomy, decision-making and empowerment and their relationship withsocial work, two types of in-depth interviews are carried out, given that aqualitative methodology is applied. The population sample of the first type ofinterview represents the discourse of people with functional diversity in order toknow their autonomy and decision-making. The second type is carried out withpeople with and without knowledge or close relationship to disability in order toacquire the social discourse towards the group. After analysing the results, thehypothesis is confirmed given that there is still a paternalistic and caring socialview and the empowerment of decision-making and autonomy of people withfunctional diversity is still a pending task.
