AB La relación de los milagros realizados por una imagen de San Francisco de Borja en la capilla de la hacienda de Chitagoto, en donde se encontraba el cuadro, fueron publicadas en España en 1629. Lo acontecido, fue reseñado en la producción hagiográfica del religioso jesuita durante más de un siglo, sirviendo como prueba de santidad en su proceso de canonización. En este trabajo presentamos un análisis del documento manuscrito de los autos e informaciones ordenadas por el arzobispo Julián de Cortázar. Nos proponemos identificar, a través de los testimonios, cómo era la iconografía del cuadro —hoy perdido—, al tiempo que analizamos la configuración de una imagen milagrosa cuyas manifestaciones sobrenaturales se interpretaron como presagios de sucesos fatales.
AB The list of miracles produced by an image of Saint Francis Borgia in the chapel of the Chitagoto farm, where the painting was located, were published in Spain in 1629. What happened was described in the hagiographic production of the Jesuit religious during more than a century, serving as proof of sanctity in his canonization process. In this work we present an analysis of the handwritten document of the cars and information ordered by Archbishop Julián de Cortázar. We propose to identify, through the testimonies, what the iconography of the painting -now lost- was like, while analyzing the configuration of a miraculous image whose supernatural manifestations were interpreted as harbingers of fatal events.
