%X La fiesta de San Miguel representa uno de losacontecimientos más importante en la región deTolimán. El refuerzo del dogma cristiano unidoa los vestigios de la cosmovisión prehispánicarepresentados a través de danzas, ofrendas ycelebraciones; mantiene la integración comunitaria gracias a la participación de personas que comparten vínculos sociales y familiares que los identifican como otomíes. Esta celebración anual se expresa a través de representaciones y santuarios que forman parte de la memoria colectiva. Ceremonias como las danzas, el levantamiento del chimal y las visitas a las capillas familiares son algunos de los elementos que integran una celebración que ayuda a conservar la identidad otomí a través del tiempo. Una memoria colectiva que busca en su pasado la proyección histórica de eventos suscitados a partir del siglo XVI que, comoconsecuencia de la característica cambiante delritual, ha ido sumando a la festividad elementospropios de otras épocas.
%X The feast of Saint Michael represents one of themost important events in the Tolimán region. Thereinforcement of Christian dogma together with the vestiges of the pre-Hispanic cosmovision represented through dances, offerings, and celebrations, it maintains community integration thanks to the participation of people who relate to social and family ties that identify them as otomíes. This annual celebration is expressed through representations and sanctuaries that are part of the collective memory. Ceremonies like the dances, the raising of the chimal, and the visits to the family chapels are some of the elements that make up a celebration that preserves the Otomi identity over time. As acollective memory that looks to project historicalevents from the XVI century as part of its past, the evolving nature of the ritual has added elements from other times to the festivity.
