AB El presente es un estudio descriptivo que explica las propiedades, características y las funciones socioreligiosas de los tambores Dun Dún en la ceremonia iniciática de la Regla de Ocha-ifa en la Sociedad de San Roque en el municipio de Palmira, en la provincia de Cienfuegos, Cuba. En la celebración se tocan tambores de fundamentos particularmente el tambor Dun Dún, se efectúa la presentación del iyawo frente al tambor que contiene el añá o espíritu de los tambores sagrados. El toque tiene como simbolismo llevar el mensaje de que ese iniciado fue presentado y confirmado ante él, lo que posibilita que este creyente pueda participar en los diferentes cultos cubanos de origen africano. La investigación fue defendida como tesis de maestría en el programa de Estudios Históricos y de Antropología Sociocultural Cubana en el pasado año.
AB This is a descriptive study that explains the properties, characteristics and socio-religious functions of the Dun Dún drums in the initiation ceremony of the Rule of Ocha-ifa in the Society of San Roque in the municipality of Palmira, in the province of Cienfuegos, Cuba. In the celebration, drums of fundamentals are played, particularly the Dun Dún drum, the presentation of the iyawo is performed in front of the drum that contains the añá or spirit of the sacred drums. The touch has the symbolism of carrying the message that this initiate was presented and confirmed before him, which makes it possible for this believer to participate in the different Afro-Cuban cults. The research was defended as a master¿s thesis in the Cuban Historical Studies and Sociocultural Anthropology program last year.
