AB Desde la Antigüedad, las imágenes parlanteso con otros signos de animación han suscitadocontroversia entre la fe y el escepticismo. Las narraciones de monjas que fueron testigosdel insuflo de vida en imágenes cristianas sedifundieron en una sociedad religiosa que lasconsideró merecedoras de los prodigios graciasa sus vidas modélicas. El siguiente textoanaliza fragmentos biográficos de las hermanasneogranadinas Francisca María del NiñoJesús, María Gertrudis Theresa de Santa Inés,Jerónima de Nava y Saavedra y Francisca Josefadel Castillo, en donde revelan experiencias sobretodo con representaciones del Niño Jesús y deCristo crucificado. Además del milagro de origenmístico, otros hechos pudieron influir para queestos acontecimientos extraordinarios quedaranplasmados en las memorias de sus vidas.
AB Since ancient times, talking-images or effigieswith any other signs of animation have raised adispute between faith and skepticism. Accounts of nuns who were witnesses of the breath of life into Christians images were disseminated through a religious society who considered them as worthy women thanks to their exemplary lives. This paper looks at biographical fragments of nuns born in the New Kingdom of Granada: Francisca María del Niño Jesús, María Gertrudis Theresa de Santa Inés, Jerónima de Nava y Saavedra, and Francisca Josefa del Castillo, as well as texts that reveal experiences with sculptures of the Christ Child and crucified Christ. Besides the mystical origin of thesemiracles, there were other facts that led to the documentation and recollection of these extraordinary phenomena.
