%X En una sociedad multicultural como la nuestra, la labor del traductor comomediador intercultural cobra especial importancia. Hoy día, los traductoresse han convertido en profesionales capaces de conectar las realidades dedos culturas diferentes a modo de eslabón invisible. El buen traductor debeser capaz de adecuar un mensaje expresado en una lengua origen a unalengua meta impregnada de una cultura totalmente diferente sin que elreceptor detecte que se encuentra ante una traducción. Por esta razón, elverdadero logro de cualquier traductor es el de mantenerse invisible antelos ojos de un receptor meta que concibe el texto que recibe como unconstructo nuevo y no como un producto que ha sufrido un proceso detransformación.In a multicultural society like ours, the function of intercultural mediationcarried out by translators becomes especially important. Nowadays,translators have become specialists capable of connecting the realities oftwo different cultures by acting as invisible links. Good translators shouldbe able to adapt the message expressed in a text to a target languageimpregnated with the features of a totally different culture. As a result ofthis process, the recipient should not notice that he/she is faced with atranslation. For this reason, the real success any translator can be proud ofconsists of being invisible to the eyes of a reader who regards the finaltext as a new construction and not as a product that has been under atransformation process.
