AB La acción popular se configura como derecho a promover la actividad jurisdiccional en defensa de los intereses generales. No obstante el amplio reconocimiento constitucional, el ejercicio de la acción popular conoce determinados límites que han pretendido configurar su significación. Sendas Doctrinas Botín y Atutxa son buena muestra de la vocación de la jurisprudencia por delimitar el ejercicio la acción popular en sus naturales contornos.-------------------------------------------------------------------------Popular action is configured as the right to promote judicial activity in defense of the general interest. Sometimes it is placed on a slippery slope, based on spurious interests. However the broad constitutional recognition, there are certain limits affecting popular action such of Botín Doctrine and Atuxta Doctrine established by the Jurisprudence of the Supreme Court. A comprehensive legislative reform of the institution should be accomplished urgently.
