AB La Ley de Accidentes del Trabajo de 1900 constituye un hito esencial en la conformación de los sistemas de protección social en España, y el punto de anclaje sobre el que se cimentará la previsión social en nuestro país. El artículo examina la regulación que la ley Dato realiza del seguro de accidentes, prestando especial atención a las reacciones que los diferentes actores sociales tuvieron frente a la primigenia regulación de este seguro. Además, se analiza la instauración del estatus de inválido de trabajo por la norma, y la que puede considerarse su principal aportación: la instauración de la doctrina del riesgo profesional, teoría íntimamente ligada con el seguro de accidentes de trabajo y sin cuyo estudio difícilmente se puede entender éste adecuadamente. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------The 1900 work-related accident Law has become a cornerstone in the configuration of the systems of social protection in Spain, and a firm foundation on which to develop the social security in our country. The article examines the regulation of accident insurance which Dato law carries out, paying special attention to the reactions that the different stakeholders had against the original regulation of this insurance. In addition, the founding of the status of work disability is analyzed according to the rule as well as that which can be considered its main contribution: the establishment of the doctrine of professional risk, which is closely related to the insurance for work-related accidents and without whose study one can hardly understand the former properly.
