%T Entre lo histórico y lo urbano-arquitectónico. El efecto de un templo barroco en la urbe moderna de la Ciudad de México.

%X Durante la época novohispana, la arquitectura religiosa configuró en gran manera el urbanismo de la capital. Esta no solo vislumbró aportes técnicos, funcionales y estéticos, sino también simbólicos e identitarios. Por medio del uso selectivo de formas geométricas en la construcción, el espacio y el trazo, estas arquitecturas fungieron como instrumentos para la evangelización provocando en los feligreses un arraigo territorial. Con el pasar del tiempo, algunos templos han sido afectados por desastres naturales, la falta de conservacióno la desvalorización histórica. No obstante,asombra comprobar cómo años después de latoma de las huestes españolas en Tenochtitlán,muchos templos perviven e incluso son referentes icónicos dentro de la urbe moderna del siglo XXI. Es el caso del templo de San Hipólito y San Casiano, el cual tiene un carácter propio a partir de sus atributos urbano-arquitectónicos.
%X During the colonial period, religious architectureshaped urban planning in the capital city. This not only led to contributions in the technical, functional and aesthetic realms, but also others that were symbolic and identity-based. Through the use of selective geometric forms in the construction, space, and lines, this architecture acted as an instrument of evangelization, provoking a strong local identity in the parishioners. Over time, some temples havebeen affected by natural disasters, a lack of maintenance, and historical devaluation. Nevertheless, it is astonishing to see how even years after the capture of the Spanish troops in Tenochtitlán; many of the temples still remain and are even known as iconic symbols of the modern city of the 21st century. This is the case of the churche of Saint Hipólito and Saint Casiano, which reflect their own particular characterbased on urban architectural attributes.
