AB A obra do jesuíta Andrea Pozzo (1642-1709) vemsendo constantemente reconhecida como disseminadora de uma linguagem específica para a quadratura. Seu tratado Perspectiva Pictorum et Architectorum (1693-1700) alcançou expressiva difusão nas primeiras décadas do século XVIII, atestada por suas inúmeras edições, versões e traduções. Não obstante a esparsa presença física do tratado na América Portuguesa, e especificamente nas Minas Gerais, é claramente perceptível a orientação de pinturas de perspectiva que tiveram por base o tratado de Pozzo. Nesse sentido, apresentam-se os elementos que denotam o uso específico do tratado de Pozzo em diversas pinturas realizadas durante os séculos XVIII e XIX, em diferentes regiões do território das Minas Gerais.
AB The work of Andrea Pozzo (1642-1709) is consistently recognized for disseminating a language specific to the quadratura. His treatise Perspectiva Pictorum et Architectorum (1693-1700) achieved wide circulation in the early XVIII century, as attested by its numerous editions, versions, and reproductions. Despite the littledocumented presence of the treatise in Portuguese America, and specifically in Minas Gerais, its influence is clearly evident in the orientation of perspective paintings. In this context, elements that denote the specific use of Pozzo's treatise are presented in various paintings made between the XVIII and XIX centuries in different regions of Minas Gerais.
