AB Durante una temporada de sequía, se acompañó a pobladores de la comunidadde Los Metates, municipio de Azoyú, a realizar una ofrenda de agua alaltar de su santo San Marcos, lugar que resultó ser un petrograbado olmecaen la cima de un cerro. Se aborda brevemente el caso de esta reutilizaciónritual por parte de los grupos afromexicanos, quienes han asimilado partedel sincretismo entre la religión mesoamericana y la católica.
AB During a dry season, residents of the community of Los Metates, municipalityof Azoyú, were accompanied to make an offering of water to the altar of theirSaint San Marcos, a place that turned out to be an Olmec petroglyph on thetop of a hill. The case of this ritual reuse by Afro-Mexican groups, who haveassimilated part of the syncretism between the Mesoamerican religion andthe Catholic religion, is briefly addressed.
