AB En la década de los años 70 del siglo XVI se asiste al establecimiento de la ruta del galeón de Manila, que conectó Asia y América. Este acontecimiento, sumado a la conexión que ofrecía con las dos Carreras anteriormente establecidas, la de Indias y da Índia, ayudó a que confluyesen por todo el mundo objetos de origen asiático, que hasta entonces no habían sido muy conocidos para la población. A través de las fuentes notariales, se pueden estudiar qué mercancías orientales llegaron a una ciudad de primer orden en estos momentos como fue Sevilla. Además, se puede analizar quiénes fueron sus poseedores y cuáles sus precios.
AB In the 70s of 16th century Asia and America were connected through the Manilla’s galleon route. This event, with connection of two “carreras”, de Indias and da Índia, helped to ship Asian objects around the world, unknown to the public. Through notarial sources, we can study what Asian objects arrived at Seville, one of the most important cities around the world in those times. We can see who the owners are, and which are the prices of these objects.
