RT Book, Section T1 Les confréries artistiques à Barcelone à l'époque moderne: Un état de la question A1 Lugand, Julien K1 Brotherhood K1 Trade K1 Painters K1 Sculptors K1 Goldsmiths AB In Barcelona, the historiography concerning the trade brotherhoods is an- cient and rich. Drawing on the varied and abundant archive collections, the studies have highlighted the fundamental role that these communities played in the economic, social, and urban development of the city, as well as their political role. As far as the ‘artistic’ brotherhoods are concerned, the research, although later and less numerous, has nevertheless made it possible to draw conclusions and to outline research perspectives.
