%X Entre los años 1578-1580 Juan Vázquez de Vegaterminó el que sería uno de los retablos-baldaquinos más destacados del manierismo andaluz: el baldaquino de la colegiata de Santa María de Antequera, hoy en la parroquia de San Pedro de la misma localidad, cuyos avatares históricos están perfectamente documentados, pero no así la fuente en la que se inspiró, cuestión que ha pasado totalmente desapercibida entre la crítica especializada. Tradicionalmente se han venido considerando que las fuentes de inspiración del mismo eran de procedencia netamente italianas, citándose diversos ejemplos como precedentes. Con el presente trabajo, pretendemos poner de manifiesto las relaciones del conjunto con latratadística-artística del quinientos.
%X Between 1578-1580, Juan Vázquez de Vega finished one of the most outstanding baldachin altarpieces of Andalusian Mannerism: the baldachin of the Santa Maria de Antequera Collegiate, today housed in the San Pedro Parish in the same city. Although the historical events surrounding the piece are perfectly documented, nothing exists concerning the source of its inspiration, a question that has not been addressed by specialized critics. Traditionally,its sources of inspiration have been considered to be Italian in origin, citing different examples asprecedents. In this work, we intend to reveal therelationship between the art piece and the artistictreaties of the XVI century.
