AB Las tres distintas piezas que son objeto de análisis en este estudio –cáliz, bandeja de vinajera y cáliz-custodia– son la justificación para una aproximación a los objetos religiosos salmantinos de plata de la primera mitad del siglo XVIII, con la marca VILLA/RROEL, atribuida al platero Francisco Villarroel, en su doble función de platero y marcador, que se conocen en Portugal. Una aproximación al encargo, como es el caso del ejemplar de la iglesia parroquial de Constantim, o una aproximación a los coleccionistas António Medeiros e Almeida y Francisco Barros e Sá, constituyen, junto con una lectura artística, los objetivos que nos planteamos en el desarrollo de este estudio.
AB The three different pieces under analysis in this study –a chalice, a serving tray, and a monstrance– are the foundation for an analysis of the Salmantine religious silversmith objects from the first half of the 18th century known in Portugal that share the VILLA/RROEL mark, which is attributed to the silversmith Francisco Villarroel during his double service as silversmith and marker. The objectives aimed in the development of this work were to study the ordering process that seems to have occurred in the exemplar at the parish church of Constantim and study the collectors António Medeiros e Almeida and Francisco Barros e Sá, along with an artistic reading.
