AB A partir del estudio de la colección de esculturas de origen guatemalteco que conserva el convento del Rebaño de María, en Cádiz, junto con algunas otras piezas de la región, la mayoría del último tercio del siglo XVIII y la primera mitad de la centuria siguiente, se pretende reflexionar sobre su producción. Para ello llevaremos el tema a las líneas de investigación que, aunque no tan atendidas por los investigadores en historia del arte hispanoamericano, desde hace algunos años se ha venido desarrollando en Europa bajo conceptos como los de seriación, arte múltiples, producción en masa o en serie, además de arte multiplicado.
AB This article reflects upon the production of Guatemalan sculpture through an in-depth study of a group of works from the collection of the Convent of the Rebaño de María in Cadiz, along with other examples, all of which date from the last third of the 18th century through the first half of the 19th century. This study focuses on aspects that have not been addressed before in the history of the arts of Hispanic America and which have been addressed in Europe: seriation, multiple art, mass production or series, and multiplied art.
