AB En este trabajo se aborda la plasmación material del concepto de ciudad nobiliaria como tipología urbana del Renacimiento en los antiguos reinos de Sevilla y Córdoba durante la Edad Moderna. Para ello se analizarán los cambios y las continuidades más significativos que se produjeron entre los siglos XVII y XVIII en algunas localidades que hemos seleccionado como casos de estudio: Marchena, Baena y El Carpio. Para ello analizaremos toda una serie de actuaciones de la nobleza territorial, prestando especial atención al "área nobiliaria" o de representación, es decir, a la residencia palaciega y a las principales fundaciones religiosas donde eligieron ser enterrados los miembros de los linajes nobiliarios que las fundaron y dotaron (iglesias, monasterios, conventos...).
AB This paper addresses the concept of the noble city as a Renaissance urban typology and its materialization in the kingdoms of Seville and Córdoba during the Modern Age. With this purpose in mind, I will give a brief insight into the changes and continuities that took place during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in some of the localities we have selected as case studies: Marchena, Baena, and El Carpio. I will pay special attention to the neighbourhoods inhabited by members of the territorial nobility, including their palaces and some of the main religious edifices they founded, contributed to, and chose as their burial grounds (churches, monasteries, convents...).
