Abstract
The present work aims to address the characteristics of the wave of anti-Semitism in Argentina during the years of the“Eichmann affair” (1960-1962) and its impact in a series of differentiated areas: the interventions of the representative institutions of Jewish life in the country, the composition of self-defense groups of Jewish youth and the mobilization among secondary school students in the city of Buenos Aires. To do this, a series of documents that have not yet been revealed will be analyzed, such as the file on “the situation in secondary schools” prepared by the Delegation of Israeli Associations of Argentina (DAIA) and a File from the Police Intelligence Directorate. of the Province of Buenos Aires regarding a procedure “against elements of the Israel community.” Finally, the symbolic and cultural representations around the “Eichmann case” and the anti-Semitic wave that circulated in Argentina in those years will be addressed.
