Las notas periodísticas de y para las mujeres en Ecuador durante el siglo XIX e inicios del XX

Abstract

La cuestión historiográfica de las mujeres en Ecuador no ha significado un tema primordial en el quehacer político, educativo y mucho menos periodístico, pese a que sus acciones han constituido micro procesos, a los que consideramos esclarecedores de los hechos y acontecimientos históricos del país, por esta causa se precisa la búsqueda de información sobre ellas en las notas periodísticas del siglo XIX e inicios del XX, más, los hallazgos en los diarios de la época solo hablan de la pugna de poderes políticos, publicados a modo de noticias; figuran además relatos, poesías y cuentos, escritos por hombres y algunas mujeres que desde la clandestinidad prefirieron ocultar su identidad y firmar con seudónimos. Esta investigación logra recabar información de los principales diarios que circulaban en las etapas mencionadas y cuentan de la presencia o exclusión de las mujeres como protagonistas de las noticas en todas sus dimensiones.

The objective of this article is to investigate in the newspapers of the 19th century and the first decade of the 20th century about the participation of women as actors of the journalistic notes and as writers of these, starting from the preliminary studyof the brothers of Santa Cruz and Espejo, Eugenio and Manuela in the Firsts of Quito's culture. The purpose is to clarify the opacity of women during the temporality and the indicated scope, thanks to the analysis of the article that excludes women from their citizenship rights and the consequences that caused such omission in the nascent society; the study analyzes the most important moments of the feminine appearance in the journalistic notes during the first years in the nation state, passing through conservatism and then with the arrival of liberalism and secularism in the face of modernity.
