Abstract
La monografía titulada "Miradas y meditaciones de la polis. Introducción a la Teoría Política" se estructura en ocho capítulos y un apartado final de bibliografía. Después del capítulo introductorio, dedicado a exponer y a aclarar las miradas generales hacia la política, el segundo capítulo se adentra en la reflexión sobre lo político en el mundo moderno, el marco teórico e histórico a partir del cual se piensa lo político en el tiempo presente. Entre los capítulos tercero y sexto, el libro despliega un análisis reflexivo de las ideas políticas centrales desarrolladas en el pensamiento político occidental. Dicho análisis se concentra en las primeras miradas hacia la polis de los sofistas, así como en las meditaciones de los principales pensadores de la tradición occidental. Entre ellos destacan: Sócrates, Isócrates, Platón, Aristóteles, pensadores helenísticos, Cicerón, Agustín de Hipona, Tomás de Aquino, Maquiavelo, Hobbes, Locke, Montesquieu, Hume, Rousseau, Kant, Tocqueville, Stuart Mill y Marx. Se llega a la época contemporánea con las miradas y meditaciones de Weber, Ortega y Gasset, Weil, Arendt, Berlin, Rawls, Dahl, Young, Walzer, Laclau y Habermas. El libro finaliza con unas meditaciones sobre lo político en el tiempo presente, focalizadas en los conceptos de polis, acción política, poder, liderazgo, pueblo, y libertad política, así como con las conclusiones en las que se brinda una propuesta didáctica de clasificación del pensamiento occidental.

The monograph titled "Visions and meditations of the polis. Introduction to Political Theory" is structured in eight chapters and a final bibliography section. After the introductory chapter, dedicated to exposing and clarifying general visions of politics, the second chapter delves into the reflection on politics in the modern world, the theoretical and historical framework from which we think about politics in the present time. Between the third and sixth chapters, the book deploys a reflective analysis of the central political ideas developed in Western political thought. This analysis focuses on the first visions towards the polis of the sophists, as well as on the meditations of the main thinkers of the Western tradition. Among them stand out: Socrates, Isocrates, Plato, Aristotle, Hellenistic thinkers, Cicero, Saint Augustine of Hippo, Saint Thomas Aquinas, Machiavelli, Hobbes, Locke, Montesquieu, Hume, Rousseau, Kant, Tocqueville, Stuart Mill and Marx. The contemporary era is reached with the visions and meditations of Weber, Ortega y Gasset, Weil, Arendt, Berlin, Rawls, Dahl, Young, Walzer, Laclau and Habermas. The book ends with some meditations on the political in the present time, focused on the concepts of polis, political action, power, leadership, people, and political freedom, as well as with the conclusions in which a didactic proposal for classifying the Western political thought.
