Abstract
La abstención es una manifestación de que la cultura política está sufriendo un cambio y es un hecho que cada vez tiene más presencia en la sociedad española. Con este trabajo, se pretende conocer cuáles son los motivos que la ciudadanía tiene para abstenerse a votar (incluyendo el voto nulo y en blanco) así como la relación que guarda la abstención con la juventud. Los jóvenes son el futuro de la política institucional y cultural, por lo que conocer sus necesidades es innegablemente necesario.
Abstention is the manifestation of change that political culture is suffering, and it¿s a fact that its presence is making its way through Spanish society. The purpose of this investigation is to know which are the ulterior motives that people have to abstain from voting (including the null and blank vote) and the connection between abstention and youth. Young people are the future of political institutions and culture, so knowing what they want it¿s an undeniable need.
