Fronteras en el arte rupestre en la Sierra Madre Oriental mexicana: San Luis Potosí y Tamaulipas

Abstract

El tema de fronteras en la cultura es amplio en la bibliografía y diverso en los abordajes teóricos y metodológicos desde la arqueología y la antropología. En la caracterización de una sociedad se encuentran implícitos sus diversos “límites” respecto a otras sociedades contemporáneas y ancestrales. La noción de frontera en la investigación del arte rupestre ofrece estudiar múltiples ámbitos de este fenómeno mundial, este trabajo propone una revisión de las posibles fronteras culturales e identitarias en torno al arte rupestre de San Luis Potosí y Tamaulipas.

The subject of frontiers in culture is extensive in the bibliography and diverse in the theoretical and methodological approaches from archeology and anthropology. Implicit in the characterization of a society are its various limits with respect to other contemporary and ancestral societies. The notion of frontier in rock art research offers to study multiple areas of this global phenomenon. This work proposes a review of the possible cultural and identity frontiers around the rock art of San Luis Potosí and Tamaulipas.
