Abstract
Francisco de Herrera the Younger’s intervention in the works of the royal chapel in the cathedral of Seville (architecture, high altarpiece for the Virgin of the Kings and the shrine of St Ferdinand) is well known due to numerous documents contributed by some authors. However, the absence of most of the drawings made by the artists leads to an incorrect interpretation of some issues of the documentation, like the number and shape of the shrines for St. Ferdinand’s body.
