Abstract
En el presente estudio vamos a realizar una aproximación al hogar sevillano de la segunda mitad del siglo XVII. El interior de las casas, su distribución y sus objetos son un aspecto ciertamente complicado de descubrir de manera directa. Por ello, documentos como los inventarios o las dotes son indispensables para reconstruir los espacios íntimos del hogar, más si cabe si queremos verlos desde un punto de vista femenino. Los espacios destinados a la mujer y sus enseres personales serán el punto de referencia para conocer su modo de vida y su realidad. Las fuentes primarias que hemos utilizado para nuestra investigación son dotes e inventarios del Archivo de Protocolos Notariales de Sevilla entre 1660 y 1700, junto con otros documentos de la misma índole dados a conocer por Kinkead en 2007. Además de las fuentes primarias mencionadas hemos utilizado también como fuentes de referencia obras del barroco sevillano especialmente de Murillo y sus seguidores.
The present study aims at an approximation to the Sevillian home of the second half of the 17th century. The interior of the houses, their distribution and their objects are certainly a complicated aspect to discover directly. For this reason, documents such as inventories or dowries are essential to reconstruct the intimate spaces of the home, even more to discover the female point of view. The spaces dedicated to women and their personal belongings will be the point of reference to know their way of life and their reality. The primary sources used for this research are dowries and inventories of the Archivo de Protocolos Notariales of Seville between 1660 and 1700, together with other documents of the same nature released by Kinkead in 2007. In addition to the primary sources mentioned above, works of art from the Sevillian Baroque, especially from Murillo and his followers, will also be used as sources.
