Abstract
The palace of the Dukes of Medina Sidonia in Seville played an essential role in the family’s program of interaction in a royal city. Its structural complexity, the result of the union of several main houses, its monumental courtyards and gardens, and its exalted longitudinal façade, made it go beyond domestic or administrative functions, becoming an emblematic setting for the representation of status and grandeur.
