Abstract
Female participation in the generation and feedback of the arts system represents an interesting starting point for research in Art History, in parallel to the homologous action from other disciplinary fields. In the case of the History of Architecture, despite the role played by this group, the absence of women in the building construction processes manifests, more than the nonexistence of this practice, the marginality with which these projects have been approached, these women and their biographical trajectories in the field of promotion and patronage. To exemplify this issue, we approach the convent of the Purísima Concepción in Lebrija (Seville) to analyze the role of women as intellectual builders and suppliers of materials for this architectural complex during the Modern Age.
