Abstract
Este breve objetiva salientar as mais recentes e enriquecedoras discussões sobre a dinâmica das venerações às relíquias dos santos e a materialidade utilizada para a sua exposição. Tradicionalmente expostos junto aos altares das igrejas ou utilizados como objetos de devoção privada, os relicários se mantêm salvaguardados em acervos públicos e coleções privadas. São bens culturais da Igreja católica que se aplicam a importantes análises e discussões em prol do ensino e exposição do patrimônio eclesiástico, sua preservação e memória. Nessa breve perspectiva de análise, buscou-se nos documentos primários (os próprios objetos) e na bibliografia pertinente, os principais procedimentos do ensaio, com vistas a corroborar a compreen- são material e simbólica da arte sacra em interlocução com a disciplina dos museus e os públicos interessados.
This brief essay aims to praise the most recent and enriching discussions on the dynamics of veneration of the relics of saints and the materiality used for their exposition. Traditionally displayed next to church altars or used as objects of private devotion, reliquaries are safeguarded in public collections and private collections. They are cultural assets of the Catholic Church that apply to important analyzes and discussions in favor of teaching and expo- sing the ecclesiastical heritage, its preservation and memory. In this brief perspective of analysis, primary documents (the objects themselves) and the relevant bibliography were sought for the main procedures of the essay, with a view to corroborating the material and symbolic understanding of sacred art in dialogue with the discipline of museums and the public.
