This study has been carried out thanks to methodologies developed by FENIX 4.0 (PDC 2022-133157-I00) funded by MCIN/AEI/q0.13039/501100011033 and by the Next Generation EU/PRTR; FENIX (PID2019-107257RB-I00) financed by MCIN/AEI//10.13039/501100011033/FEDER "A way to build Europe", CONECT (ERA-NET/ENUTC 2021, PCI2022-133014) funded by the AEI and the EU with the Recovery, Transfor-mation and Resilience Plan, and ATLAS (PCI2024-153441) financed by Joint Programming Ini-tiatives Cultural Heritage and Global Change (JPI CH). P. Ortiz thanks the university of Ca Foscari (Venice, Italy) for her research stay and Ministry of Universities (Spain Government) for the funds of the senior stay for researchers (PRX22/00544).
This study explores the effectiveness of the Art-Risk Decision-Making Toolset in managing risk in Cultural Heritage Assets. The approach describes and tests the four digital tools that make up the Art-Risk toolset: Art-Risk 5.0:Atlas®, Art-Risk 1.0:Earth Inspector®, Art-Risk 3.0®, and Art-Risk 4.0:Mission Track®. These tools are used to: 1) assess vulnerability with matrices and indexes, 2) evaluate hazard maps using satellite images and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), 3) incorporate the human perspective on risk by combining multicriteria analysis techniques and fuzzy logic, and 4) strengthen resilience with communication tools. This research analyses four study cases in historic cities across Spain to explain the employment of Art-Risk Decision-Making Toolset. Furthermore, the findings may serve as guidance and inspiration for other managers to develop strategies that reduce risks and optimize the use of human, technical, and financial resources.
