Abstract

ABSTRACT: The urban development of Rome gave rise to new social needs, such as the insulae or family housing units built into buildings of the same name. In this work, attention is paid to the echo of this phenomenon in the jurisprudential texts on succession matters and other mortis causa negotia. This especially reinforces the identification of the insula as a differentiated res by considering it a certain object that transcends the mere inter vivos activity.
