Abstract
In this study, a review of the previous researches into the enclave of Ostur is carried out. From this history of researches, the question of its probable identification with the archaeological site of Mesa del Castillo (Manzanilla, Huelva) is raised; thus two parallel and well defined lines of research into this enclave can be observed: one concerning the coins with the inscription of OSTVR and the other the information on the archaeological site of Mesa del Castillo compiled by different authors. This history of researches will largely be concerned with the history of the development of these two lines of investigation and the process of identifying the mint with the archaeological site.
