Abstract
La enfermedad del cáncer afecta cada día a ciento de personas mayores, lo
que conlleva una serie de consecuencias físicas, emocionales, psicológicas y
relacionales, haciendo que estas se enfrenten a una serie de desafíos. De esta
forma se dan una serie de casuísticas que, junto a la realidad hospitalaria que
viven las personas mayores en el Hospital La Merced de Osuna, que está
caracterizada por la no humanización de los espacios, y por la falta de
implicación durante dicho proceso oncológico, sea clave para llevar a cabo una
intervención directa, integral y centrada en la persona desde el ejercicio del
Trabajo Social. Por ello, el objetivo principal de este proyecto de intervención
social es mejorar la calidad de vida durante el proceso de la enfermedad de
dichos usuarios/as mayores oncológicos a través de actuaciones como son el
grupo de apoyo, el taller de arteterapia y el deporte en activo.
The cancer disease affects hundreds of elderly people every day, which entails a series of physical, emotional, psychological and relational consequences, causing them to face a series of challenges. In this way, there are a series of casuistry that, together with the hospital reality that the elderly live in the Hospital La Merced de Osuna, which is characterised by the non-humanisation of the spaces, and by the lack of involvement during the oncological process, is key to carry out a direct, integral and person-centred intervention from the practice of Social Work. Therefore, the main objective of this social intervention project is to improve the quality of life during the illness process of these elderly oncological users through actions such as the support group, the art therapy workshop and active sports.
