El inventario de alhajas de la Catedral de Sevilla de 1828: reflejo documental de un cambio de época

Abstract

Se estudia en este trabajo el contexto de ejecución, el significado y el contenido del inventario de alhajas de 1828 de la Catedral de Sevilla. La pérdida de parte del tesoro durante la guerra de ocupación francesa, el anticlericalismo del Nuevo Régimen liberal y la mermada capacidad de mecenazgo y poder del Cabildo catedralicio configuran el carácter de un inventario que refleja un cambio de época.The context of execution, the meaning and the content of the jewelry inventory of 1828 of the Cathedral of Seville are studied in this work. The loss of part of the treasure during the French war of occupation, the anticlericalism of the New Liberal Regime and the diminished capacity for patronage and power of the Cathedral Chapter configure the character of an inventory that reflects a change of era.
