Abstract
The aim of this article is to illustrate the contribution that the polygrapher Ludovico Domenichi made to the debate on the Querelle des femmes in 1500s Italy.Domenichi's production in this study is divided into three different groups: the first includes the works written by Domenichi as an author, focusing on the first text that deals with the subject, namely Nobility of Women (1549). The second group analyses works written by women but promoted and edited by the polygraph, where we will specifically analyse the Rime della signora Laura Terracina (1548). Finally, the third parágraph illustrates some dedications of works written by Domenichi and addressed to noblewomen of the time, focusing on those found in the Rime of 1544
