Abstract
The present article establishes a dialogue between Anthropology , Archaeology, and History with the aim of contributing to the overcoming of four theoretical models used to interpret the ethnology and history of Indigenous group s speaking Jê languages in Central Brazil. The corpus analyzed include s both part of the historical documentation from the eighteenth century and ethnographic and archaeological data related to these groups in the region s that currently comprise the Triângulo Mineiro and the states of Goiás and Tocantins, Brazil. Based on the evidential paradigm and ethnographic projection, the analysis of this material makes it possible to reconsider the assumptions and representations that characterize these peoples as simple , symmetrical, egalitarian, and centripetal societies, and presents, from the perspective of the history of contacts and indigenous ontologies and cosmologies, another interpretation.
