Abstract
En el desarrollo de empoderamiento ciudadano juega un papel decisivo el proceso de toma de conciencia sobre nuestro entorno. Los medios de comunicación online facilitan el acceso a la información, por lo que pueden ser una oportunidad para promover el empoderamiento y mejorar la democracia. Sin embargo, junto a esta oportunidad aparecen riesgos como la concentración de internet en pocas manos o la espectacularización de la política.
In the developement of citizen empowerment, the process of raising awareness about our environment plays a decisive role. Online media open access to information, so they can be an opportunity to foster empowerment and improve democracy. However, against with this opportunity appear risks such as the concentration of the internet in few hands or the spectacularization of politics.
