Abstract

The territory of Doñana has been mapped throughout history at different scales, either as part of a larger territory, or considering only the local area, in this case, to a lesser extent. In turn, the geographical elements that have appeared on the maps have been changing as this territory has evolved towards what Doñana is nowadays. To analyze this transformation, we started, in this study, from the few maps that exist from the end of the Middle Ages, where the first toponyms appear, until the end of the 18th century, with maps that are limited exclusively to this space and with a wealth of cartographic elements quite significant.
