Tras la huella indiana. Patrocinio novohispano en la provincia de Granada

Abstract

Volvemos sobre el fascinante tema de los indianos, en esta ocasión sobre un determinado grupo de ellos: los granadinos emigrados que cosecharon fortuna en el Virreinato de la Nueva España. Según el patrón de comportamiento típico de este colectivo, muchos fueron los que quisieron favorecer con sus regalos a los familiares que dejaron atrás, los templos donde fueron bautizados o las advocaciones de las que eran devotos. La huella que dejaron estos personajes en sus lugares de origen nos habla de sus inquietudes y añoranzas.

We return to the fascinating theme of the Indianos, this time on a certain group of them: people emigrated from Granada who made their fortunes in the Viceroyalty of New Spain. According to the typical behavior of this group, many of them wanted to favor the relatives they left behind with their gifts, the temples where they were baptized or the advocations of wich they were devotees. The imprint left by these characters in their places of origin tells us about their concerns and longings.
