Una nueva interpretación sobre las Termas Mayores de Italica (Santiponce, Sevilla)

Abstract

Este trabajo parte de un minucioso análisis descriptivo de las Termas Mayores de Italica. A partir de los datos recogidos y de la elaboración de una nueva planimetría del edificio, pretendemos aportar una nueva interpretación sobre los espacios y ambientes que definen al conjunto. Del mismo modo a través de un estudio comparativo con otros complejos termales, intentaremos ofrecer una nueva visión arquitectónica del edificio y de los diferentes elementos que lo conforman.

This work originates from a detailed descriptive analysis of the so-called ¿Major Baths¿ at Italica. From the collected data and from the elaboration of a new plan of the building, we try to offer a new interpretation of the spaces and rooms which defi ne the complex. Equally, through a comparative study of others bath complexes, we attempt to contribute with a new architectonical view of the building and off the different elements which shape it
