Abstract
The present article is an analysis on the control devices which create both the social category 'whore' and the systems created by this collective to resist against different axes of oppression. Devices such as sexuality, the biomedical, ideological or the political-legal generate the so-called 'whore stigma' and the social consequences it carries within. However, where there is power there is resistance, and this collective creates tools that question and subvert the devices that control their lives. The document also addresses the specific case of the Spanish "Debates Universitarios sobre Trabajo Sexual", a set of conferences organized by both prostitutes and scholars and celebrated in different universities around the country, where they analyse and study these oppression devices in the academic context and how they are resisted and criticized at the same time by the sex workers.
