Abstract
The article proposes the study of the Mar del Plata Cemetery Park from the Competition Call (1961) until the execution of the winning proposal by Horacio Baliero and Carmen Cordova (1968). The research will be carried out by reviewing the call for competition, contemporary publications, and the archive documentation of the winning proposal, followed by an in-depth analysis of it from the development of Modern Architecture in Argentina, as well as from the evolution of the architect duo. The project presents itself as a new way of facing spaces for death, from a modern perspective in which Baliero and Cordova play with the sculptural and symbolic spaces that the article thoroughly analyzes in their relationship with formality, territory, landscape, and cosmos.
