Abstract

The process of touristification has been the subject of much debate since the 1990s, not least because of the distinctiveness of the phenomenon. When it occurs, it affects the place and its landscape in many ways, intertwining with other urban phenomena such as gentrification. Understanding the landscape as a territory that is produced, perceived and configured in a social way, the aim is to study how tourism has transformed the main streets of the Triana district in Seville, using San Jacinto Street as the main artery of the neighbourhood and its Old Quarter.
