Con y desde las entrañas. Etnografía de un aprendiz de boxeo en la Ciudad de México.

Abstract

En este artículo se presentan una serie de datos recopilados etnográficamente en un gimnasio de boxeo de la Ciudad de México. Este gimnasio es utilizado por dos diferentes escuelas de boxeo, una de vocación amateur tradicional y otra de orientación fitness. La investigación se concentra en estudiar las diferentes pautas de masculinidad elaboradas en cada escuela.

This article presents a series of data collected ethnographically in a boxing gym in Mexico City. This gym is used by two different boxing schools, one with a traditional amateur vocation and the other with a fitness orientation. The research focuses on studying the different patterns of masculinity de-veloped in each school. This was done using the participation method with observation. In the structure of the text it will be possible to find a contex-tualization of the place where the ethnography was carried out, later the findings of the traditional gym are presented, in this segment a theoretical discussion of the subject is offered. The next section delves into the fitness gym. Finally, it closes with some comments for further discussion.
