Abstract
El presente estudio versa sobre la Convención internacional para la protección de los derechos de todos los trabajadores migratorios y de sus familiares, adoptada el 18 de diciembre de 1990 en el marco de la ONU. Se pretende indagar sobre su pertinencia y aplicabilidad después de unos veinte años de vigencia, en el contexto de las nuevas realidades que derivan de una crisis sanitaria, económica y social sin precedentes, provocada por la pandemia COVID-19, y el conflicto armado en el territorio de Ucrania.
A estos efectos, el análisis se centra en la protección de algunos derechos sociales, teniendo en cuenta los aspectos del régimen de los trabajadores migrantes en España.
This paper deals with the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families, adopted by the UN on 18 December 1990. The aim is to examine its relevance and applicability some twenty years after its entry into force, in the context of the new realities resulting from an outstanding health, economic and social crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the armed conflict on the territory of Ukraine. For this purpose, the analysis focuses on the protection of some social rights, considering aspects of the migrant workers' regulation in Spain.
