Abstract
Tras el lanzamiento de la IA al público general en 2022, los sistemas conversacionales como ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini o Llama se han convertido en herramientas del día a día. Nos asombra su capacidad para crear contenido, hacer resúmenes y ensayos, o para traducir.
Sin embargo, te habrás dado cuenta de que algo que hace la IA “suena a IA”. Por otro lado, a veces cuesta conseguir que la IA haga “lo que verdaderamente queremos”. Nos gustaría dedicar el Café con Ciencia a tratar estos dos temas que son los que hemos estudiado en el proyecto TITANIA de la UPO. Hemos descubierto que cuando la IA redacta, por ejemplo, una noticia, lo hace de una manera muy concreta y distinta a cómo lo hacen las personas. Es decir, que la IA deja un rastro en los textos de dos formas: a) hace un uso concreto del lenguaje (estructuras textuales y sintáticas repetitivas, escasa riqueza léxica, errores de puntuación y de mayúsculas/minúsculas) y b) trata los temas con un enfoque muy particular (superfluo, sin polemizar, sin analizar las causas, sin profundizar, o incluso inventándose cosas).
Sabemos que la IA se ha convertido en una herramienta útil para el estudiantado (¡y el profesorado!) y creemos que conociendo su lenguaje es posible llevar la alianza IA-humanos a un nuevo nivel.
Following the public release of artificial intelligence technologies in 2022, conversational systems such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, and Llama have become everyday tools. Their ability to generate content, produce summaries and essays, and perform translations continues to impress users. However, many people have noticed that texts produced by AI often “sound like AI.” At the same time, it can sometimes be difficult to obtain exactly the output we want from these systems. This Café con Ciencia session was devoted to addressing these two issues, which have been examined within the TITANIA research project at the Pablo de Olavide University. Our research has shown that when AI writes, for example, a news article, it does so in a very specific way that differs from human writing. In other words, AI leaves identifiable traces in texts in two main ways: a) through a particular use of language (repetitive textual and syntactic structures, limited lexical richness, and punctuation or capitalization errors), and b) through a distinctive treatment of topics (often superficial, non-confrontational, lacking causal analysis or depth, and sometimes including fabricated information). AI has clearly become a useful tool for students — and for teachers as well — and we believe that understanding its language can help take the human–AI partnership to a new level.

Esta propuesta divulgativa fue resultado del proyecto de investigación:

Se presentó en el “Café con Ciencia” organizado por la Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) en 2025 y forma parte de la Semana de la Ciencia, un evento anual que se celebra en toda Europa del 3 al 16 de noviembre de 2025 y que busca acercar la ciencia y la investigación a la sociedad, especialmente al público más joven.
Se trata de encuentros informales tipo desayuno en los que investigadores e investigadoras de la UPO conversan cara a cara con grupos reducidos de estudiantes (generalmente de 4.º de ESO, Bachillerato y Ciclos Formativos).
La idea central es que los participantes, alrededor de una mesa, “tomen café” y charlen directamente con científicos, haciendo preguntas y dialogando sobre temas de investigación y ciencia en general.
Objetivos principales del evento:
-Acercar la investigación a los estudiantes jóvenes y despertar vocaciones científicas mostrando cómo trabajan los investigadores.
-Humanizar la figura del científico, presentando su experiencia de forma cercana, accesible y motivadora.
-Fomentar el pensamiento crítico y la curiosidad, permitiendo que los estudiantes planteen sus dudas y exploraciones sobre temas actuales de ciencia.
Cómo se desarrolla:
-La actividad consiste en mesas de diálogo de entre una hora y hora y media. Cada mesa se centra en un tema distinto (por ejemplo: inteligencia artificial, biotecnología, deporte, materiales, sociología, etc.).
-Participan grupos reducidos de alumnado (con un máximo aproximado de 15 por grupo), acompañados de sus profesoras y profesores, para facilitar una conversación más directa y personalizada.
-Tras los cafés científicos, muchos centros educativos también realizan visitas guiadas al campus de la UPO para conocer las instalaciones y laboratorios.
Colaboración y marco institucional:
-“Café con Ciencia” es una iniciativa de la Fundación Descubre, en colaboración con diversas entidades de investigación y divulgación de Andalucía.
-En la UPO, la organización se realiza a través del Vicerrectorado de Investigación, Transferencia y Doctorado y la Oficina de Transferencia de Resultados de Investigación (OTRI), integrándose dentro de la programación de la Semana de la Ciencia 2025.
En resumen, es una experiencia de divulgación científica participativa y cercana diseñada para que estudiantes puedan dialogar con investigadores, descubrir diferentes áreas científicas y comprender mejor cómo se hace ciencia hoy en día.

The activity was presented within the “Café con Ciencia” programme organized by the Pablo de Olavide University (UPO) in 2025 as part of the Science Week, an annual Europe-wide event held from 3 to 16 November 2025 aimed at bringing science and research closer to society, particularly younger audiences. Café con Ciencia consists of informal breakfast-style meetings in which UPO researchers engage in face-to-face conversations with small groups of students, typically from secondary education, upper secondary education, and vocational training programmes. Participants gather around a table to “have coffee” while directly interacting with scientists, asking questions and discussing research topics and science more broadly. Main objectives of the event: -To bring research closer to young students and encourage scientific vocations by showing how researchers work. -To humanize the figure of the scientist by presenting research experiences in an accessible, engaging, and motivating way. -To foster critical thinking and curiosity by allowing students to raise questions and explore current scientific topics. Format of the activity: -The event consists of discussion tables lasting between one and one and a half hours, each devoted to a specific topic (e.g., artificial intelligence, biotechnology, sports science, materials science, sociology, etc.). -Small groups of students (approximately up to 15 participants per group), accompanied by their teachers, take part in order to facilitate direct and personalized interaction. -After the scientific cafés, many schools also participate in guided tours of the UPO campus to learn about its facilities and laboratories.
