Abstract
A través
Throughout the 17th century, and especially during the reign of Philip IV, civil silver acquired great significance in the domestic setting as a symbol of luxury and ostentation. The development of research into silver civil use is associated with the rise of studies on material and social culture. Using documentary sources and preserved pieces, various silver objects for profane use are analyzed, grouping the different types according to their domestic and everyday function.
