Abstract

En España se conservan numerosas obras, copias fieles al original en algunos casos, de la Virgen de Guadalupe de México. Presencia artística y cultural que refleja el culto popular y a gran escala desarrollado durante los siglos XVII y XVIII. El poder milagroso y protector fueron los principales motivos que fomentaron e impulsaron la piedad y devoción de los ciudadanos de la Península, además de la difusión fomentada por los americanos residentes a este lado del Atlántico.
In Spain you will find many works, faithful to the original copies in some cases, the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico. Artistic and cultural presence that reflects the large-scale popular cult developed during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The miraculous power and shield were the main reasons that encouraged and promoted piety and devotion of the citizens of the Peninsula, as well as the dissemination encouraged by american residents on this side of the Atlantic.
